What's the damage to the block and rotating assembly?
If you can I would go with forged pistons and rods at least. Maybe get some decent heads too if you can afford it.
If you want to build a 408 though you might want to just try and find a used LS1.

i was gonna change the whole rotating assembly out but didnt know what type to put in. the 408 is gonna be a long build up and i wanna get the car back on the road. looking for maybe 400-450hp from ls1. i just dont know a good setup for it

anybody on here have an iphone. there is a cool app called klutch22. it a car/person gps that shows your location on the map and if other people are on it they will show on the map. im the only one in the phx area cuz the app is new. it has alot of potential for car clubs
