Default Cop Accidental shooting

I'm surprised with all the cop stories this latest one hasn't made it up yet, my question is if the weapon is holstered during this altercation with the woman why is it not on safe? or if it was holstered?

To answer your question, those guns don't have safeties. Why she felt the need to rest her finger on the trigger is a whole different story.

that video is old as f and has nothing to do with the initial post. But no guns are never on safe, they are always ready to fire, at least 99.9999999% of departments run that way, what was reported was that the first officer in, gun draw since its a search warrant for a murder suspect, gets confronted by the mother who grabs the officer, the gun goes off and accidentally hits and kills the kid. Cops cant and dont enter into a potentially hostile situation with a suspect wanted for murder, or while serving any search warrant with weapons holstered and safety on. Most departments dont even refer to it as a safety anymore, they call it a decocker since, once fired it returns the hammer to double action if the pistol is a double action. Most single actions the safety is either on the back of the grip(1911) or in the trigger itself(glock).
