Can I pay the bail amount so I can go to court to see if the officer shows up and if he does show up can I still ask for traffic school? You have to pay for the ticket anyway if you go to traffic school.

Yes but its up to the judge to grant or deny you traffic school so there is a bit of a gamble involved if you try to fight it. Also its not very likely that the officer won't show up.

if you try to fight it your gonna give up your chance to go to traffic school. if the chp wrote the ticket they show up 100 percent of the time, if it was a lapd squad car you have a chance that they wont show up, if it waslapd on a bike they are definately going to show up. almost any officer who pulls you over on a bike will show up as they are on traffic patrol. all that said your looking at about 300+ for the ticket plus a court fee for maybe 35-50 to get traffic school than the actual fee from the traffic school.
