isky cam that it performs real well. idk
man thats sucks man hopefully things work out for you. You can tell if you have a 305 or 350(it should say what it 305 or 350) by looking at the casting on the back of the motor just below the passenger side head in the back, tho I think you may need the motor out to see it. If you have to pull it out again at least you can check.

A 400ci small block is an awesome engine, but if you are going to run that I think it would be best to either go carbed or a better fuel injection setup than a TPI, something like a mini ram or edelbrock setup. That would be a wicked combo though, way different and better than an LT1.

I would consider picking up a cheap beater car in the meantime, you don't want to rush whatever build you decide to do and end up screwed again..
trust me i've been down that road more than once

i want to sue him but a lot of damn hassle.
i got the motor running OK an doesn't leak compression I connected a breather box and pcv valves and everything how i had it stock an im going to try an sale it finish priming it, it has straight body now, new fenders an all the **** i have on my sig well mostly everything the only thing he might not have done was the port polished heads.
i think i can sale it. the over heating thing was the temp sensor that was the wrong one, since the original owner also cut off the pig tale an did some stupid wiring.
im going to try an get a 96-97 lt1 m6 or a 99+ z28 m6 an build that.
i wana say i have easily spent about 4k rebuilding motor, cam, cust. exh, doing body work, buying sensors, struts, tires, bushings, fuel pump etc'
plus what i paid lol..
