The Shelby / West Coast Customs Mustang #001 for $40k what a slap in the face. That car has been at Sema / on TV (had a show about it), Shelby drove that car, has been in a ton of magazines...very good buy for somebody!!!

1996 Corvette Convertible with 18k miles for $15k. Barrett-Jackson might not want to come back if cars don't sell for more then this.

There was a 3rd Gen Camaro ZR-1 (1 of 4 built) that sold Saturday for $20k.

The peeks and valleys of the car world. The tough part with Barrett-Jackson is it's an all no reserve auction. Any other aution and 1/2 those cars dont sell but again that's what makes it so popular, all cars will trade hands. The produtions cars aren't even the hardest hit. You have 100k plus customs going for .36 cent on the dollar. A geat time to buy just wish i had the extra $$.

A lot of people got smokin' deals at this auction. I was really surprised considering the reputation that Barrett-Jackson has. I was also surprised at how rough some of these cars were, from being just plain grungy to incredibly shoddy body-work. I spent quite a bit of time autocrossing - er - test driving the new Ford and GM lineup. Sadly I found the Ford lineup much more appealing than the GM lineup, both in terms of looks and performance. I'm sure having more boring SUVs than actual cars didn't help the GM side any. Ford had only 3 large vehicles (Ford Flex, Lincoln SUV, SVT Raptor) and the rest were sedans and coupes. They had the SHO too, which really impressed me as far as performance.
