Default Intake options for CA LEGAL emissions.

I am running down possibilities to pass CA emissions. The car is a 98 and has an SLP intake on it to keep the EGR. Will that pass? EGR is fully functional. On that same note, it looks like some of the FAST intakes have provisions for EGR. If I painted one of those black and hooked up the EGR, could it pass? Would a F.A.S.T. effect tailpipe readings?

This is for a legal build, or at least one that doesn't have to pass via a bribe to the tech.

The SLP LS6 should pass. A FAST will not. The only reason that one will is they can't tell the difference without looking up the part number. I think MAYBE a painted FAST might work but who knows.

For an emissions build you'd likely be wasting money on using a FAST intake over a LS6.

Agreed, unless you use something like the TR Cheatr V3 H/C package a FAST is a waste of $$. Unless you're just looking for a way to get a larger intake manifold and use the EGR port a FAST offers. You'd prob want to sand off the FAST emblem and paint it black.

Let us know how it works out. I'm thinking along this route minus the EGR crap.lol.
