383 LS1 + ALL emissions + CheaTR cam = Pass or fail the sniffer?
I want to build a no headache California car. Stock manifolds, stock cats, everything in order...except for the 4" stroke (383 cubes) which I doubt they will pull the engine apart to see!
So, I have seen a lot of people recommend the CheaTR v.3 cam (219/230 .607/.604 117 LSA) for stock cats and manifolds. I like the idea of the cam, but I need to pass the sniffer.
Does anyone know if it is possible?

Going through all that trouble of building a 383 and putting in that cam and putting stock manifolds on is pointless. You can run that cam and pass but if you want to get the most out of it while staying legal to the sniffer do an LS6 intake, ported heads, that cam and a catback/TDs. Match your stall to 3.73s or run 4.10s if you are an M6. That should put you around 400rwhp.

I already have the 383 in the car with the LS6 intake, heads, and 3" pipe back, 3.73s and a 3200 converter. I should have been more specific. I am converting mine to Cali specs. Basically, moving to manifolds or CARB shorties, stock cats, a y-pipe built for a stock forward setup. Hell, I converted to an SLP-type LS6 to get EGR back!
Will that cam pass the sniffer in my 383 setup?

I agree on the boost. I would like to go with a CARB form of boost, but to pull that together will take some time. My wife is pregnant and it is time to start reconsidering my financial priorities. Boost is the answer though, you guys are right.
