Default Burglaries

I heard many stories of people getting their homes burglarized and you never think it will happen to you. Last wednesday it happened to me. I dont care about the materialistic part of it but just the fact that they went through my stuff, it makes me feel violated. My wife could of been home but thank God she wasn't. These people must be desperate because they took massaging creams and old tennis shoes. These people might be enjoying their time now but the time will come that they will have to pay for their actions. BTW this took place in Downey, CA. So my advice to you guys is always be cautious of people around you especially in your neighborhoods. Thanx for listening to my venting.

They took the usual electronics. I hate this because they know who we are but we dont know who they are! Downey is nicer than other cities around but dont let that fool you. It doesn't matter where you live because there's always wicked people out there.

Sorry to hear it man, it seems to be happening EVERYWHERE lately. The lady down the street just got her car burglarized in her own driveway last week and I live in freakin SIMI VALLEY "2nd Safest city in SoCal". There have also been a couple home break-ins in the last 6mos. I would suspect its the same person/s.

Also there have been a string of home invasion robberies a few streets away from my parents in San Fernando. That **** is just crazy, they send someone to the back and check to see how many cars are there and how many people are home then have a kid knock on the front door to gain entry.

Feel your pain bro, had it happen to me back in May. I know I am not in Cali, but its going on everywhere. So I know all to well about feeling violated. It was 3 kids that got me, I only know this because I saw them earlier watching the house, but at the time I was in a hurry, and didnt think too much about it. I have kids run around the neibothood all the time, so didnt think they would do anything at the time, but you know the saying, hind sight... What really made it stand out that it was thoes kids, is that they went through my fridge and ate some food and drank one of my kids pouch drinks. They took a laptop, camera, and few other electronics. They are just lucky that I havent seen them around again, because the Camaro may get a few dents in the front bumper if I do. Did you have renters or home owners insurance? I did, and they paid for all that was stolen.

Plus I have heard on the news that they have noticed over the last year or so an increase of collector/old muscle car thefts around the San Fernando Valley, criminals these days have no shame.

Sucks man. Happened to my parents house twice in the last 5 years.

Living in a nicer area makes you more of a burglary target imo. If I was looking for some good **** to come up on in a house, I wouldn't go to the ghetto where there's 10 ppl in a 2 bedroom home, tons of people everywhere outside all the time and half with guns/knives, and probably electronics from the 90s inside.

As long as you blend in in your appearance according to the neighborhood, people don't suspect you.

That sucks man. Hapened to me about a month ago. They just took minor things and cash and a whole bunch of "skitles" . What sucks is that my dogs were locked up at the time. They would have got what they deserved if they were loose.

Sorry to hear about any fellow enthusiast getting jacked. It has happen to me a few years ago. Some dogs aren't cut out as guard dogs. My dog (black lab) probably lick the inturder and went for his favorite toy so he can play.

When I'm home I just start clocking people who don't seem to fit in so they know I at least seen their faces.
I hate low life scum who find it acceptable to take from others which is not theirs to begin with.

Get yourself some home real home protection. Just make certain that if you shoot some intruder on your property make sure you drag them into your house before calling the cops. lol

My neighbor across the street got their house broken into today @ around 1400 today.
Took all the electronics and went through everthing!! In broad daylight.

Thank goodness I have a Pitbull that roams the whole house and cameras that I watch from work and my phone.
Everything is insured but still....

My parent's house got broke into when I was in 8th grade. The scumbags stole all my mother's jewelry and all my N64 games. We called the cops, they came and took a report. Our back door was closed when we left but was ajar when we got back. We told the police about it but they did nothing. I personally told them to "dust it for prints" but they straight up told me no. Unfortunately that single run-in with the law forever changed my outlook of law enforcement in general.

Now I'm 26 and own my own house. I've got a Remington 870 Security and a Sig Sauer P226 NAVY and would not hesitate for a second to use them.

lol about them telling you 'no' when you asked them to dust for prints. After my parents house got burglarized, we called the police and had to wait several hours for them to show up. When they showed up, we asked them to dust for prints on the door *****. They took some notes, made their report and told us someone will come in about a week to take prints. 3 weeks later, a cop comes to take prints and we never hear anything about it again.

I think a good home alarm system will work better than a gun. Most of the people sharing stories about their house getting robbed seemed to get rob when they are not home. Sometimes these alarm companies offer free installation and free house alarm services for up to 6 months. Just a thought.

My house has been broken into as well and it sucks *****.
Going to high school my mom wouldnt let me take the house key with me because she thought I would loose it so I had a lil hiding spot. one day my brother invited one of his friends over, well my friend too, and he saw where we left the key.
One day coming from summer school, I go into my house, go straight to my ps2 games, and all my games were empty. he took the cds only, and took like 300 bucks from my dad. that day I called my parents saying it was a good joke that you guys hid my games and they said we didnt.
luckily my grandma said she saw someone go in and out of the house but thought it was my bro when it wasnt. He spent the money on pizza, and split it with someone else. called the cops, he got sent to juvi, hope he learned his lesson.
