I just turned 18 this July
on monday I start working at a dealership as porter for the body shop, I went to high school were I majored in Auto Collision.
The body shop manager wants to pull me to be a painter.
but id really like to continue with my education, but I do not have the resources to do so. yesterday my neighbor, army vet. told me I should join the air force.
I had already been looking into it but Im not quite sure.
Id like to, to continue my education, and have a career an secure job for later, not just a painter...
my question is
how many do u guys regret it?
did you guys enjoy it?
what are some pros and cons?

My short stay with the USAF was awesome I loved but it sucked that I fell under force shaping, Air Force is a great way to go not completely military but not a bunch of pansies either.

i was in for nearly 10 yrs. as far as getting out at that time, it was a mutual decision. i loved the air force itself, i just had a supervisor that screwed me, and since i knew i wasnt going to get out of that shop for a while, i decided to come home. honestly, i would completely recommend it. even after 8 years out, i still talk to many of my friends that i had when i was in, even though, some are in completely different places. while i enjoy my current job, a job in the military is a much different experience, even the corporate military (chair force). went to saudi several times, always fun, turkey once, and england for 3 months. if you have questions, feel free to ask.
