Default Quick question for anyone that knows differentials.

Does anyone know if an LS1 diff would fit an el camino. My friend is trying to get one and he want to know if it does since I have one laying around.

I doubt it. The El Camino rear end is probably designed to used leaf springs. Fbody rear end's have spring perches and a provisions to bolt on the shocks, torque arm, and lower control arms. Completely different...

el camino is a factory 4 link coil spring rear, with two lower control arms and two upper control arms, actually similiar to a 5.0 mustang suspension except the coil spring is on perches on the axle instead on the lower control arm like the 5.0.... of course it can be made to work, but why the factory el camino diff is likely stronger, built or stock..

I figured it was either leaf spring or 4 link. You know better than I do...
