Default Ok, question about a 79

This might not be the right section but I want to ask my western guys.....
This guy with a 79 TA (bought it stock) put a "big block" and idk what else. He is claiming 563hp and he said he will smoke anyone. Haha... I doubt that. But anyway....... I called em out to see how it would do against my slow *** ws6. He will eat me up, but how much would he chew of my car?

Well it is possible to make those numbers on an old BBC. If his suspension is not done then he will surely find out just little traction he gets.

If he built it right then could get you pretty bad.

Yeah, need to know more about his car.

You could just put on some nitrous, and borrow some DR's, just to be done with it. lol

But I had a friend that had a 2nd gen camaro, and it had a 396 big block in it. And he was always for sure it was faster than my TA. This was back when I was H/C only. So I invited him to the track with all of us, and he ran a best of low 15's.

TLDR: Big blocks can still be slow sometimes.

Ask him if its a big block pontiac. If he answers yes, he's a moron...
pontiac only made one block( unless its a 301, which is a boat anchor anyways), so there is no big or small block pontiac...

What's considered a big block? What about the 455SD??
