Default Clear Bra

Has anybody had a clear bra installed on thier car? I hate the beating my car takes on the 91 everyday, so I was thinking about getting it done. I got a quote for $450 which is a lot cheaper then getting a repaint again.

$450 installed using 3M product. I would try to install it myself but I can't even install the "Blackbird" stripes without having bubbles in them. lol
+ the kits are pretty expensive...the labor is not the majority of cost.

i was interested in it myself after being reminded. i looked up reviews, this guys bmw, when he peeled off the 3m it took the paint with it, but someone else said it was because the paint wasnt given time to bake and cure? something i changed my mind about risking.

we have one on our Saturn Sky. It's VERY nice to have. Our sky is white though, so the bra does turn a very very slight yellowish color over time. However with a red car I doubt it would be noticeable. It's barely noticeable on ours. I'd absolutely get it again though. Saves the paint a ton!

Your car has the old generation clear bra. The new gen. 5 (I believe) adhesive doesn't yellow with time, and is practically invisible compared to the older styles.

SoCal WS6, if this is something you're serious about, I can ask my buddy how much he'd charge you. He uses the stuff I spoke of above and it's 3M. He's in the detailing business and only does high end stuff (Ferraris, Porsche, etc).

I bought some for my CE but I have yet to install it. Use a sample I got from the Autoshow and used it on my cel phone and it held up good.

The 3M clear bra stuff comes with a DIY dvd. I got a qoute about $450 installed just to do the front end and hood area so I plan on doing it myself and save about $200 on labor. If you have large or deep chips it's best to use touch up paint prior to applying the bra otherwise it'll show.

My friend has one on his 'track only' Elise and he swears by it.

You can barely see it and it really does offer a huge amount of protection, even at speed.

Seems like a real PITA to do yourself though.....

That is a great deal for a clear bra installed. I was quoted $700.00 here in San Diego to get it done.

How about the vinyl option that someone was showing off not too long ago? Too funky?
