Default So when's a "reasonable" time to file a claim with paypal?

There's a user on here who lives in Pasadena, and on 10/9 (last saturday) I sent him money for a Z06 cam. He seemed like a stand up guy, which is why im giving him the botd and not blasting his information. I'm assuming the he's a family man with a few pending issues at home, but at the same time it been about a week, no returned emails, no returned pms, not packages. Should I initiate a claim with paypay and get my nuggets back?

A week might be too soon. Should it take a week, no, but I don't know if it's claim worthy yet.

Do it now if the seller won't answer you, you can always close/cancel it later. Otherwise, if he's still replying to your messages give it some time.

I would go ahead and file a claim. This will force him to communicate with you, and you can always close the claim if it was an honest mistake on his part. You will want to get it started because they will give him a week or so just to reply to the claim.

I bought a beach cruiser from a company in City of Industry, and I never received it. I filed after 1 week, and they never responded to paypal so my money was returned by paypal. Very simple process.

Whatever you do... dont wait too long. Ive made the mistake of forgetting about stuff and then by the time i remember its been a month and I cant file anymore.

IMHO, its better to do it early (1.5-2 weeks) then forgetting about it and being screwed. Yeah, somtimes its a douche move... but sometimes you gotta motivate people.

Like mentioned above, if they are communicating with you... then id wait 2 MAYBE 3 weeks. If they arent, a week week and a half.

Good luck!

You can open a dispute, but I don't think you can make it a claim before 10 days.

if its only been a week and the money just posted to his account it is possible that he just transfered the money from paypal to his bank account and is waiting for the money to post in his bank account so that he could use it to pay for the shipping. but it is weird that he is not writing you back.
