but my mti cam that was in there got damaged when one of the lifters broke.
I'm rebuilding the motor, and want to know what is a good cam for it. ill mainly be using the car for weekends only.?

I'd get something with similar cam specs to a Torquer 2 or Futral F13 cam.

I have driven a couple MS3 cammed cars and they are great at the track, but I would not recommend it for a "weekend warrior" car. The low end torque loss is noticable and the peak power is at high rpms.

for every "street car" i recommend a 228-232 on a 112+4 or a 110+2 , it will lope nice, and it will flat out make a bunch of mid range torque.... believe me i have tuned them all...it will be alot more fun to drive

p.s. ms3 cam cars are lazy pigs in the mid range.... i have yet to see one make above 370 rwtq on my dyno in a cam-only application

From the ops first post sounds like weekend warrior big hp means its a play car and driveablity isnt a huge concern...custom cam is best...depending on cubes...
My ms3 made 389 rear thru a 12 bolt 410 th400...4400 stall..my ms4 car ran great around the street and i never had a issue driving it 300 miles one way on cruises....

op depends what you want out your car drag..funautox etc.

It takes about that much gear and stall as you mentioned to get the MS4 to be very enjoyable. I bet that thing really ripped assuming you were shifting at 6800 or higher. But with most cars with stock gears and/or smaller stall, it's not as fun...

Damn ryne, its crazy to hear the laziness of the MS3. But that cam is no joke in action.. I just couldnt believe all the cars that TRMIN8R was destroying with the MS3 and 200 shot..

I run the X1. but other cams i considered and still always liked are the
speed inc 231/237
TSP 233/239..(Prolly the biggest cam i would run in a DD) and cam i should have gone with seeing how civil my cam. drives.

What kinda motor are you building stock? Forged? Dish pistons? Are you going to run a head? Btw this mobile **** sucks asa

That is one of the MS3 cars I have driven. I replaced his clutch master cylinder because his pedal was sticking after hard shifts. We took it out for a test with me behind the wheel and even with headers, FAST, injectors and a tune, it didn't feel all that impressive and if you weren above 4500 rpms, it felt sluggish. It did have stock rear end gears though.

You would want 4.10 rear end gears to get yourself into your powerband quicker.

Nitrous is a different game. For NA there are many "under the curve" cams that will make a little less power but have a much broader torque curve and be much more fun to drive.

I agree, used it once and now I use the regular version on my IPhone. You can change it back from the mobile version in the bottom left of the screen.

well i want atleast 400rwhp, i want it for racing but mainly scaring guys in cobras an other mustangs. i wana atleast be able to outrun a 03/04 cobra

as far as pistons go i might go forged all inside I wana bore the the block but idk how much to go, this is my second ls car but, the first im actually going to mess with.

it has an ls6 intake, heads are ported and polished with bigger valves do not remember specs of top of my head.

I just want something fast from the time that I take off with it, till top end.

and yes SRJ, I do plan on upgrading to 4.10 with moser axles before its all running

For 400rwhp, don't even begin to think internals...unless you know you are going to add a large shot of n2o in the near future, spend your money elsewhere. A nice cam like the one Ryne or I mentioned will do you just fine. And since you have heads, consider a FAST intake manifold. With all that you will easily eclipse your 400 goal, more like ~430. Taking into account the mods and 4.10's you plan to get, raping Cobras is going to be no sweat.
