I thought the max by law is 4in and thats why some of the big hoods are called "outlaw" hoods. Google search.

there are plenty of guys in my local forum that have hoods that size and bigger and don't have a problem. Dont' be a dick on the road and you won't have a problem

I wasnt sure if he was asking on the legality. As for looks, I think it looks pretty sick. Most cops wont even notice or care..unless you give them a reason too.

Im not going to name and names... but my buddies VFN bolt on is SO huge, you can only see out the top of the 3-4" of the window. It actually lays ON the glass.

But you get a great view of the engine bay!!

 

Is it a sloped style hood? The regular 5" ones are massive, the sloped ones are only like 3" at the windshield. OP's is sloped.
