Really? this is to pay for Obamacare?
While it is a fact that a new governor was just elected and took office in Cali,
what governor was just in office there for two terms?
oh yeah, Republican Governor -- the Governator
previous to him was a one term Dem. governor
and previous to him was 16 years straight of Republican governors

I guess the Dems. really screwed up that state

This only counts for new tickets after that date right?

Or will those rules be applied to the people that have received a ticket before the date, and still haven't taken care of it?

I just remembered my friend got a front plate ticket and he keeps putting it off even when he can easily take care of it. I would think it's only for tickets issued after that date.

CA is a **** state for enthusiasts. There's a law against just about everything if your a driver. .. And the tricky part is that the laws change sometimes according to what city your in. I'm told that if I drive into Burbank, I need to put out my cigarette in the car as I'm driving. Apparently you can get a ticket for smoking while driving in Burbank! .. Such bullshit!! ... I hate this state!

Nope.. no grandfathering of fines in california.. you think they'd actually let you pay less money for your heinous crimes against the state? If you dont pay it until the new fine schedule, you pay the new fine schedule. Been there, done that.. no t-shirt, no lube either...

Googled it and found nothing that proves that LA Times wrote this, one even says this is from January 2010. I don't believe it till I have proof.

And this is why when I fly back to the east coast to visit my family, it literally feels like coming back to America from a foreign country.

Hey guys. I suggest you actually look up these vehicle codes on the DMV site. Some of these codes have been around for years now, while some have just been recently amended. The code for not having a license plate has been around since 2004, so I'm pretty sure it's still a correctable offense. If anything, the list is an update of new fines, not new laws.

Well the increased fines are what's pissing people off isn't it?

I could care less if there were some new laws, it's the fines since we've already had these laws for a long time now.
