Default Odd Engine Application...can you help?

Hey guys,

A guy I know has a 3.8 liter engine (the '98-2002 4th gen V6) in a 1997 Camaro. He wants to put shorty headers on it, but will there be any clearance issues? From what I saw it looked like he should have plenty of room...any ideas?

He's not looking for a ton of power gains, he purchased the headers and a flowmaster muffler looking for improved exhaust tones, which he'll definitely get. And your reply doesn't help me, lol.

shouldn't be a problem. the 3.8L also came in some of the 1996 cars and in all the 97's so it's the right engine for the car and you shouldn't run into any problems.

67rscamarovette-as far as i know you can only get shorties for the v6's. one of my friends has a 3.8l with long tubes but his are custom, at the time he said no companies offered lt's

Thanks, boostedLT1. I didn't know that. And yes of course and LS1 swap would help exhaust tones haha, and after all, it's a near perfect engine!
