Default which clutch.montster or ls7 debating

hey guys what clutch should be better for a heads and cam car that will see a lot of street driving, drag racing maybe two or 3 times a month and a lot of road racing.im expecting the car to make over 400 rwhp.
i like the monster stage 2 kits and the ls7 clutch kit.which one can take the beating and still maintain nice street manner.

i have no experience with monster but if you want a clucth that is smooth and light like stock then the ls7 is for you, if you like stiff pedal feel with a strong clutch engagment then i would look somewere else monster, spec etc .....

my self i love the feel of my six puck clutch and absolutely hate ls7, i dont like not having a strong pedal pressure

I DD a monster stage 2 when its warm enough and love it. It has a bit of noise when leaving from a stop sometimes but it feels really good. Im partial because I have never driven a ls7 clutch but people seem to love them both.

The ls7 is supposed to be a great clutch for DD use but does not hold up as well to some real hard launches as well as some of the others. Or at least so i have heard.

Ive always gone a little overkill when buying clutches. Thats the best way to go. I have heard good things about the monster clutches, I have an ls7 in my ws6 now but its stock. It makes a nice DD clutch but im not sure if it would really hold up to hard launches or road race abuse.

I drove a H/C ls1 with ls7 and it holds the power pretty well and feels just like stock. Pretty good clutch imo

i had an ls7 and it randomly went out on me on a 2-3 shift.
drove nice for dd purposes though. never had any problems till it went out.
bang for the buck ls7 is a great stock replacement,
bang for the buck monster stage 3 is a great replacement, aftermarket wise i think.
now i have a monster stage 3 in my room waiting to go in.....
you may say you only want 400whp now, but that might change later.
im sure both are niice, but im pretty confident the monster will out perform an ls7.
if moneys not too big of an issue, monster.
plus it never hurts to go a little overkill on a clutch imo....

I just installed a monster stage 2. Just over 100 miles, so the chatter in first gear is just starting to go away from the break in period. I'm not able to provide a ton of feed back yet. It replaced an ls6 clutch that I installed about 20k miles ago. HUGE difference. The engagement in awesome, and clutch pedal provides a lot more feedback. (know what I mean?) I talked to the owner of Monster, and he provided a ton of information. I asked him specifically about his vs the ls7. He was able to provide real reasons why his was a better fit for me. If you search, there's a lot of people who seem to have problems with ls7 clutches on our cars. I'd give monster a call. The owner was very imformative and answered all my questions...even the ones I didn't know that I had. Real good guy. Good luck!

Love my level 3 Monster. The pedal is much stiffer than the LS7 it replaced IMO. But it has handled 6500 RPM clutch dumps at the track with out siipping a bit. I recommend the Tick adj Master with it.

I know you didn't ask about this one, but I'm running with a Centerforce Stage 3 Dual Friction racing clutch in mine. It is fantastic! It has amazing bite in higher RPM's but enough give while in traffic to not kill you! If you're considering, I'd highly suggest the Centerforce.
