Default ATTENTION ALL.... help me out

I have my GF's 2000 Z28 and everytime u floor it, it won't shift unless u let go of the throttle. (keeps hitting the rev limiter) I'm thinking it needs a shift point adjustment. Has anyone ever been through this?

Yup mine did this on the freeway and it was 3-4 going out then all the sudden it went out. might be the clutches slipping meaning its almost time for a rebuild.

x 2. Start savin.

A stock car that hasn't had the tuning messed with wont need any type of adjustments. The auto trannies in our rides are electronically controlled.

Doesn't really make sence. Tranny isn't slipping at all. Drives and shifts fine. Just at WOT it doesn't shift like it should.

Check the tranny fluid when car is fully warmed up and level. It needs to be right on or you will have shifting issues.

My car also did this before the trans was completely toast. I would say rebuild time.

I still want to do the tranny oil change and see how it acts. Probably someone put the wrong fluid. :/

damn.... hopefully its just a minor issue, maybe you just need to tweak the tranny a little with a minor tune?
But whatever it is, good luck.

The 4L60E in our cars only calls for Dexron III ATF which is very generic...it's not like they need a synthetic or specialty ATF from the factory. As much as it sucks, I'm sure its not the fluid.

eehh maybe not. Did you buy the car recently? Sounds like someone may have dumped it before the trans was going to take a poop.

This happened long time ago. Maybe like 1 month and half ago, shifts fine unless at WOT.... And there is an update from GM that all auto trans shall take dexron VI... Dexron III only for T56
