engine lift plate for this weekend
Anybody got an LS1 engine lift plate that I can borrow for just this weekend? I need to move my motor from a stand to the K-member, and a lift plate would be the safest/easiest way. Unless you guys know of another way to move a longblock that's equally as safe/pain-free.

Thanks Ryne, but the gas cost for me to get there would be as much as buying a lift plate. If Jerry or Adam is going to be there some time tomorrow AND be at Bob's in Burbank on Friday then I'll have them pick it up, but if not then the bolts into the side of the head + chains are looking like an alternative.

Yeah... That's how we put the shortblock in and lifted it out of the crate for transport via a motor mount bolt/washer through a chain. Problem is the motor mount area is not a really good place to bolt a chain once the heads are on. Also, I'm pretty sure that lifting it by hand is the mans way of lifting an engine.
Adam has one too. I don't really wanna use that...
Sounds like a plan... Thanks!

just a lil tip for actually putting the motor in lee, throw a load leveler on the motor (bolted down closest to the motor as possible) then after you have the motor under the car use the cherry picker to pull the motor into the car, doing it this way i got my motor bolted in in literally 15 minutes
and i have one you can borrow if you would like
btw this way your using 2 chains and 4 bolts as well
