Surfer dudes
So...
I got the fiance and myself some suits and boards today and wanted some newby advice.
Plan on playing in the water for a week or so and then trying some lessons from a local.
I did decide that we both needed 4.3 mil full body, and took the risk of getting us both 7 foot mini long boards even as newbs.
Thanks guys!
stay away from HB north side.. WAAAY too many ******** HB "bro's" that have this thing about them being so awesome..
upper newport is ok too to learn..
rules of the surf, whoever has the inside track has the right of way.. dont drop in, in front of someone.
dont try and stand straight up.. keep your center of balance low, pop up in 1 shot, meaning both feet hit the board at the same time, dont try and walk up on it.. its like a quick push up with both feet landing at the same time..and sideways..
front foot is balance, rear is steering, but just work on getting up and balancing first.
4.3 ahahha you guys are going to sweat.. a 3/2 is plenty for socal..
i surf mostly salt creek or 50-56th st. in newps..
have fun

I went to a newby beach called mondo beach. Much easier to learn in.. I can stand.. but not very long or very graceful looking.. lol...
I'll get the hang of it ..
Two area's I'm having trouble with is getting the momentum to get "pushed" by the wave.. and my pop up..
I vary between a slow knees to feet to the whole quick "pop up"
knee to feet work a little better.
