This isn't a permanent closure, street legal and jr dragsters can still race until the sound wall is built. We just have to sit tight until they get things straightened out.

I agree with you 100%... Terminal Island, Pamona, LACR... sad for a state with as strong a car culture as we have

will the PSCA be effected?

PSCA will likely be affected.

The sound wall has been a topic for some time now, and was a condition of approval for their Conditional Use Permit - required to keep operating at this point, with the cars using the facility eclipsing the db limit regularly.

Auto Club has too much money invested in this to let it fall by the wayside. The conditions will be fixed and the track operations will be expanded.

I used to live across Arrow Highway from the track. Street legals were never a noise issue I could remember. Now once they were testing a new Mercedes for 24 hours. The Mercedes could be heard across Baseline that was loud. Street legals are not loud. Yes the neighbors should care more for the big rigs and dump trucks parked all over the place and the proliferation of junk yards in the area. Just my .02.

This doesn't make sense. The Nascar races and other oval racing is way louder than drag racing. It seems to be more of an attack on the car culture and car enthusiasts. I have raced out there in my old truck and had a blast. This is also where I saw a diesel Chevy HD truck hit a quarter mile in the 12's along side a 97-04 Corvette.

Where are people supposed to go now? On the street so local police and cities can generate revenue?

this sucks, but i do argee on the db level restriction, too often you will see a car that is ear piercing loud that will only run like a 12 or 13sec pass
i wonder how this is going to effect la invasion next year?

Agreed, require a db rating and enforce it. Im sure guys would rather put mufflers on their cars than to not race at all.

GOOD BYE CALI...VEGAS HERE I COME...NAH BUT ON A SERIOUS NOTE IT'S TIME FOR US TO START PETITIONING AND PROTESTING...THE GAYS AND BIKE RIDERS HAVE! I SAY WE PROTEST LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOV WITH SIGN'S AND PICTURES OF CRITICALY INJURED & DECEASED PEOPLE CAUSED BY STREET RACING ACCIDENTS...

LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOV WANT US TO STOP STREET RACING WELL THEY NEED TO HAVE OUR BACK ON CREATING MORE VENUES AND KEEPING TRACKS OPEN,RATHER THAN MORE REVENUE... YOU HAVE A BUDGET FOR THESE TERRIBLE FREEWAYS THAT DON'T MAKE TRAFFIC ANY BETTER,WHATS A LIL SOUND REDUCTION WALL GONNA COST...

WELL ON A SIDE NOT ANYBODY ORGANIZING A FUNDRAISER/DONATION CAMPAIGN TO GET THAT WALL UP FASTER,IM ALL IN FOR THAT.

p.s WHY DO THESE NEW JACK NIEGHBORS HAVE SO MUCH AUTHORITY.**** THEM CRY BABIES. OUR TRACKS HAVE BEEN THERE LONGER THAN THERE NEW JACK CRYING ***!!!

In the times I've attended events there whether it be the oval or the strip NASCAR, INDY, Moto GP, drag racing etc. some racing can be heard as far away as the 10 and the 210 freeway. I've been hearing for years about Fontana expanding the drag strip and the local residents are mostly industrial businesses railroad tracks which is why I can't understand them closing the strip part.

My favorite strip was Pomona when they had the Street Legal drags but the community in the immediate area with million dollars homes got fed up with the noise and shut local small time racers fun down. I can understand the complaints when NHRA is in town cause the db levels can make your ears bleed.

It's one homeowner.. The speedway has set up decibel-measuring equipment at his house. What a *****.

Everyone should protest at Midnight every Saturday until it reopens....

Cut-outs open....Driving through Fontana showing them what noise really is.
