I did the swap and its well worth it. I was so bored of the automatic, and I hated the stupid dead-spots.

Yes you do! but as long as it's the same year or newer Engen & retanes that model years smog eqitment your all good. you culd shu horn a viper in the if you wanted!

like the outher guys sed the trany / rear dosent mader no need to fret

i dont think thay check the year the eng was made just that u have the smog parts that your saying it came from & it pases that years smog reqierments.
you can upgrade to your 50 state aftermarket parts too but it's best to wate until after geting the ok stamp from the ref in stock trim @ least thats what the ref by me sed to do

Actually thats not true. A car is smogged based on model year or engine year, which ever is newer. A 98 is an acceptable replacement for a 99.

A ref will fail you if you do not have a trans that was offered with the engine you are swapping from the factory.

A guy on another forum was failed because he mated a jeep tranny to his ls1.. wht the trans has to do with emissions is a head scratcher to me, but it isn't a surprise(damn california).

Maybe the ref will overlook it, maybe he won't. Best thing to do would be to call them to make sure.

I'd like to ditch my A4/10 bolt with 3.23's for a T-56/S60 with 3.42's or 3.73's and I'm hopin it doesn't fall under the same rule of you need to provide donor material. Thanks in advance for any answers and mod's if this isn't the right forum please move it

This guy knows what he's talking about, engine and TRANSMISSION have to match and be from the same vehicle, that is newer than the vehicle they're being swapped into.

Plan on doing two swaps soon, I don't plan on reporting **** to no one about the swap. **** the ref and DMV.

I also don't need to smog my cars either though. FTMFW!
