Another ridiculous sale are LS3 heads. Everyone want $600+ for a pulled off set of heads, with miles. I can get brand new heads for $300 each, fully dressed (minus the stands and rockers).

I'm looking for a TA hatch with high rise wing for a project my body shop guy and I are planing for the Firebird community; so I check craigslist and there's a guy on there that is selling one for almost $400. I tell the guy that he would be lucky to get $100 for it and that most of the guys here on LS1Tech get sick of holding on to it and just toss them with the trash. So I offer him $50, one of the last prices I've seen one go for on here, and he emails me back telling me to shove it, lol... I just wrote back say to enjoy collecting dust on his sold gold hatch.

There's a guy in the classifieds now trying to sell a used MS4 cam for $320. Now I'm sure it will sell, but I paid $275 for my used MS4 and it had only dyno time on it. Then you have guys selling T56 with issues for $1000+, I mean come on!

Yeah seriously I bought my 228R cam and 241 heads with patriot gold springs for $300 with roughly 800 miles on the cam and very low miles on the heads, heck the heads were even milled .042" with no other work done.

People are thinking they can sell fbody parts for that much because they see vette parts sell for that much and since they are all the same they must be valued as such lmao.

Heck I wanted to trade my built auto with fti stall for a t56 about a year ago (the first time I tried the trade) and some guy PM'd me and said he wanted cash on top, I was like umm my trans is built yours is used with over 50k miles on it. Needless to say no transaction occurred haha.

LMAO! So right Bro... So right!

Like with the LS3 thing I post about above, I won't post openly, in someones thread, that I know where to get brand new fully dressed LS3 heads for $300/ea because - 1) it rude and 2) I'll have my box filled in no time asking where they can find them too - so I just PM the seller about it and they get pissed that I'm low balling them! How about I get pissed that you're trying to rip me off! lol.. some people

Yeah it's pretty insane that people expect a certain amount for used parts. Heck you could pretty much buy some of these parts brand new for just a tad bit more.

When people say installed but never ran or on car for only 500mi do they think we're stupid? You spent a lot of money on a part to not use it? Youre obviously moddifying your car but the parts were never ran? I dont know, i dont buy most of those stories. A few may be honest but im sure its a small minority.

Only thing on F Bodies is reaching those last couple intake bolts and relocating the map sensor I believe. You only need to grind a bit off the water pump corner if running a 102 or bigger tb. I might remove my 102 for service tomorrow, cleaning out oil thanks to a crappy pcv, and if I do I'll take some picks of where I grinded material from the water pump so you can see its pretty easy. In fact i just used a file. Other than that its almost the same as installing a regular intake.

I spoke to one of my customers who works primarily with rubber, but has the tools to do the pressing.

He said initial capital would be $30-40k to produce a mold. If its off-patent, then copying won't be a problem.

Next, I am going to ask him for contacts in the mold-making biz, see what info I get.
