Anyone else wonder?
Why FAST 90's and 92's used and no longer made are selling for the price of a brand new never used 102? I have looked around tech and noticed people think that because it is no longer made, it is now valued at some times more than what it cost brand new and you can get a brand new FAST intake for the same price.
I understand supply/demand and people pay the price, but does anyone else even wonder why people pay the prices instead of waiting for the sellers to realize they are on drugs and should come down to half the price for the product if not less, like I could see $450/$500 for a used 90 or 92 FAST, but anything over is ridiculous since they sold for $900 brand new without a TB. Anyways just tossing discussion up for the West coast.

i looked into running a 102 and theres alot involved. a new top end basically, and possibly a new waterpump cause so much grinding is involved. only real benifit to a 90/92 as stated earlier is that it works with all the stock crap. no need to a certian shape injector, or relocating the map sensor, or aftermarket fuel rails, etc.

Nate I saw a 90 sell for $900 a couple weeks ago, the average price on here that I have seen over the last few months is $700-$800, a few hit the $900-$950 range hell some guy had a NW 92mm TB and FAST 92 for $1150.
I just find it interesting, heck some auto parts prices have gone up as well, 5.3 heads are up to around $200 to $250 on ebay, thats just ludicrous lol.

Think FAST needs to start making them again. Here is ported 90/90 on ebay starting at $1,400 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FAST-...item415d8dc42e

Along with all the hassles mentioned already about the 102, I've heard it is a bitch to tune with that huge TB. I paid 1k for mine, less the 350 for the LS6, so I am looking at 650 for my FAST 90/90.

Damn. Well I don't like ripping people off especially fellow gm enthusiasts. Those prices are crazy. When I sell something I look for a balance of making of few bucks but helping someone get a good deal too. Some people will sell you a spray painted turd if they could.

The market/buyers dictate the price, not seller asking price. Like you said, people are paying those prices, so that is what they are worth.
Plus, the thread now includes all the reason why it is worth the price or more of a 102. Your only help is if FAST or a competitor begins to produce new 90s.
There's your new business, it can't be hard to copy that FAST intake. Adam's 90/90 has a nice ring to it!

Yeah Fast 102 go for ~$800-850 all day on ebay, with free shipping. Once i start on my spare motor it will get a 102 intake, i'd rather pay slightly more and not deal with the hassle of people's insane expectations of the price used parts will fetch.
