Who has not stuck a screw driver through an oil filter to get it off? I literally did this just 2 days ago on my Trans Am.

Granted mine was one hole and I didn't mangle everything... Same concept just executed a tad better.

It is a great way to get a filter off that for some reason is too tight.

 

Have you tired a filter wrench before? They are sold in every parts store, cheap enough to loose. I always use the right tool for the job, that way you risk not damaging the car or hurting yourself.

 

Can't always get filter wrench on. Had to use a screwdriver on my first oil change on my SC MR2-no room at all,it was stuck and I was stuck at my 2nd garage 10 miles from my home with no spare car with me

 

have you guys tried using an oil filter strap wrench? You kinda tie it around the filter, and connect the one piece to a socket wrench. It works wonders, and fits in tight spaces.

 

Pinsas, martillo, and screwdriver. With some bricks for Jack stands.

I say it would be unfair to some to stereo type. to answer your question yes several big events comeing up. and right now the weather is the same here. one day it would be perfect to ride the bikes. then the next its raining or 30 degrees. most of us right now this time of year are doing more mods to the toys or getting th bugs out of the new set ups. cause next month it will be racing racing racing

 

Yes sir... Didn't have one at the time and it was on there pretty good. If you hurt yourself with this, you shouldn't be working on cars to begin with.

Your not supposed to pry with a screwdriver, It even says it on the package when you buy them from snap on. I have seen one break and **** up a guys hand pretty bad. If you don't know how to use tools the "proper way" you shouldn't be working on cars to avoid injury to yourself or others around you.

Juanito, did you not get enough from getting owned yesterday? I'm no expert it's just common sense and it says it on the label before you open a screwdriver set. I know you just crossed the boarder not to long ago, But here we like to get educated before attempting to use potentially dangerous tools/machinery.
