Roll racing would be cool. A 1/2mi run is more of a top speed thing so it would be great to at least know ones mph and going from a roll is easier for guys wanting to keep their street tires on. Works for me.

Im still with jsteele90 on this one... roll racing sucks... a drag strip should be about people running what they brought... not running a rolling race because it benefits some.

It's not that it's benefitting some, it's benefitting the most. I have had more requests as it being this set up than anything else. Since it is a fundraiser and the goal here to raise money and have fun at the same time, it will be catered to the majority.

Thank you for your opinion.

I work right around the corner on mainside and have had this idea running in my head for a long time now. I didn't think it would be feasible on base, let alone a car show fundraiser. Good stuff, I'm definitely in with the 240.

roll racing is ideal to accommodate the masses , a lot of people with big hp cars do not drag from a dig, because they blow the tires off, or something in the driveline.....

I'm in depending on tech , what will it be like ? I have not attended most of these other events because I'm sure my trunk mounted batt will not pass tech without a outside disconnect, which I am not willing to put on my car

the tech at the trona airstrip event was just a tech form you feel out... no official inspection

Yeah, I've been on Pendleton since 08 and I have thought about it for a while too, so I started the plan, so far everyone I pitch it too is interested so we'll see how my meeting goes with the Safety Officer tomorrow!

I can't be 100% on this right now, since I have no clue what they would allow. However, as of now, the strictest I can see it being is that they would have to be street legal to lower liability.

Probably won't be that haha, though I don't know for sure. I do have a friend that knows a Tech guy at Barona, so I can get him out there I think.

If you can try to make it where there is little to none tech and the cars that enter must be currently registered and insured and make the participants sign a waver, then they should be covered pretty well and make it much easier for everybody
Willow springs holds a drag night every other week and this is how they run it , it makes it great for those of us who have fast street cars

This will probably be what it'll end up being.

How are they going to handle base passes for the event?
