My LS3 C5 cam only rough tune dyno
Well, the car still needs quite a bit of tuning but I got a baseline on my current rough tune. Technically I havent tuned the car yet as its runing on the tune from my old setup. At least the afr's have been good enough to romp around in the car. Car dynoed at 460rwhp/455ftlbs on a Superflow eddy current dyno. Needs less timing up top and a lil less fuel. 1 7/8 headers and intake porting are in my future plans. Still as is, its making 20+ more ftlbs of torque then most LS3's Ive seen with this cam. Hopefully some more tuning can net me another 10-15hp but not bad for cam only stock motor.
Stock L92 shortblock
Stock LS3 tb, intake, heads and rockers
TSP 231/236 114lsa cam
PRC .675 valvesprings
TSP 1 3/4 headers

Thanks. Stock motors with the same cam 1 7/8, headers, 25% ud pulley and ported stock intakes are at or passed 500rwhp, and thats with stock heads. Seen a few C6's at 501-517rwhp cam only. With 1 7/8 header and a lil more tuning I plan to he in the 480's at least. I can imagine a car with ported heads should hit 520rwhp on a stock block. These LS3's make great power with minimal mods. I was on a conservative dyno but as is after some tuning alone I should be in the 470's.

Yeah just going off what Ive seen in the forums. I think an avg of about 480 for a LS3 with lightly worked heads and all the goodies is realistic. Im sure a few of those dynos were "happy"....and in the east coast. The torque the LS3 makes really gets these cars moving, especially lighter vettes. At 460 with work still needed, Im not complaining.

yeah 480 is a realistic... the issue with the ls3 is the ported heads and fast manifold dont really pick up alot of power, most of power gained from the head work is in the milling... the factory combination is already pretty good, so you dont get the huge gains like you see with the catheral motors.
Do you think he will loose some torque going with the 1 7/8 headers?

stay with 1 3/4 headers port and polish the heads. my ls2 c5 made 448 420 with an l76 swap ported ls2 intake and tb 1 3/4 headers mildly ported heads through 2:73s and a 3400 stall.
