Default Thinking about moving to Utah

Like the title says, the wife is wanting to move out of Texas and she has been thinking about Utah. My question is what is the car scene like in Utah, what are the inspection laws and how is the state overall? Better places to live than others? From what we've read it seems like pretty much everyone lives in or around Salt Lake City. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I visit family in Provo and SLC evry year. I dont about their vehicle laws but the car scene isnt very big compared to other western states. Theres a few shows and gtg's in the summer but not much after that and its pretty damn cold in the winter.

had a friend who was stationed there and he called it jewtah. dont think it was because there was a lot of jewish people but because its just a really religious place. he said everything was always closed on sundays and they dont serve alcohol on sundays in public places. according to him at least

Yup, the beers are only 2-3% alcohol there and theyll look at you weird if and when you order one. On Sundays everything looks like a ghost town, theres was only like 5 people working out at the gym when I went. Lol. Beautiful place tho, a great drive in good weather especially if heading into Park City.

The particular religious environment there dominates the scene. I know similar things happen in Texas (dry counties, etc.) But Utah, esp. SLC, is unique. Until you've spent time there it's hard to understand what it's like. I'd advise a long stay there before considering relocation.

That being said, some of the most fantastic landscapes in the country can be found in that state.

This is a great place for skiing, snowboarding, boating, camping etc. As for the car scene it's not as big as the other western states, however the track scene is huge. Road racing has really grown over the last few years with Miller Motorsports Park. We have GT series races every year, plus other competitive divisions of the sport.

X2 on Oregon. And certain counties have no emissions testing. Oh, and registration cost is $80... For TWO years!
