Default bumbling idles

So after a new cam and zo6 heads and a tune. My idles seems to kind of fluctuate. If i reset the TPS and IAC my car will idle at 1100rpms. Which is fine but as I drive it around it starts to hover around 2k after a while. I can usually try to stall the car out and it will drop to 1100 and if i press the clutch real quick it wont die and it will stay at 1100. Only thing I changed after the tune was throttle body. My tuner says he thinks the idle is set too low. So the IAC is trying to over compensate to control the idle and then thats why its dicking up after driving it. Any other ideas? My idel screw is wonkey on my Tbody so i just reset everything and stuck a dime on the set screw and my idle didn't seem to really change so maybe there is some validity to his theory?

Make sure the throttle body is closing all the way. When it idles high close the throttle more manually.

If it were me, I would take it to your tuner. He can plug in and read what the desired IAC counts and the TPS percentage is. Besides maybe a vacuum leak or something, usually those two things can tell someone everything they need to know about the idle. Good luck,

Changed the iac valve problem persists. I feel that if it was a vacuum issue it wouldn't ever drop back to 1100 from 2000. When I pull up to a light it starts at 2000ish then after 3 seconds drops to 1000ish sometimes it will bounce between 1200-1500 though. Tps is my next thing to check out. I would love to take it to my tuner but he is 2-3 hours away.

What cam? Did you modify the throttle body at all?

Was that throttle body done before or with the cam?

I had the same Problem. I’m guessing that the cam you are running is a good size. You are really going to have to play with the IAC and TPS. Read up on how to reset them without the tuner if he’s not local. He should have fixed this when he was messing with it but it still takes some time to get right and if you have a big cam. I have to mess with mine every time I start my car. Once it warms up it should act right.

Yeah I had a tbody issue when it was tuned so it has been swapped. I'm pretty sure at this point it's a tuning issue new tps and iac sensors and it still does it. Occasionally it will run correctly or if its idling high I can kick the clutch to make it idle right. Anyone know a nice person in oc with hp tuners software?

I've talked to my tuner but over the phone he can't diagnose. I had it tuned by cal speed because he's on the way to my inlaws house. Cms is the best from what I hear but I just can't afford their rates. More than double cal speeds prices.

Gotcha, well if I had more experience and knew much about tuning I would give more advice. Only thing I would say is next time you're up that way take to Cal Speed and have him take a look. Mine did that when I swapped the t56 in but that was my bad since I tried to get a working tune on it, Ryne was nice enough to get it working correctly, I still need to go back but it is all on me for screwing with it to begin with.
