Default ls6 valley cover in Cali.

I have an 02 ls1 camaro and I wanted to do the ls6 valley cover conversion, but I'm worried about the smog here in Ca. Is the ls6 valley conversion smog legal?

It would not even come up with the smog. why would it? You still have a PCV system, it is just routed a different way, is all.

That's what I mean, that the smog person might fail me because it doesn't look like stock since it wont match whats on the sticker under the hood. But I see what you mean, and it makes sense.

Actually that's very possible. I've been told by numerous smog tech that if they're in doubt about legality of any emission related parts they're suppose to fail it, whether it's legal or not. Just because they're factory GM parts doesn't automatically make the part legal on other GM vehicle models.
They fail it then let you work it out with a smog referee.
Furthermore, this is California we're talking about, so the odds are in favor of just about any law here not making a Damn bit of sense.

IMO, don't do the LS6 valley cover swap to try and curtail oil in the intake, because it doesn't always help. I'd get a good catch-can(RevXtreme is very good) instead which will do a lot better job, and it can be easily be bypassed if needed for smog.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. I wanted to do the ls6 valley cover so I could get rid of all the dry rotted hoses and clean up the engine bay. But since this is California is better not to mess with it, and just get new pcv lines.
