Default Driving issues

it's quite rare that I am stumped by a Camaro but today I can say I am. I drove the car 20+ miles to school with no issues. However on my way home it immediately had a rough idle before I could get out of the parking garage. Rpms would drop lights dim ect hit the throttle and it would perk up and run fine above 1000rpms. I figured maybe a IAC issue that would clear up because I parked it at 85 degrees out now it's 60ish. So I continue to drive home and around half way my radio and dash shut off except my voltage and oil pressure gauge still worked. This is what has me puzzled. Rarely 2 things take a **** at the same time so I tend to believe they are related although I can't figure out how those two could possibly be related.

Any ideas?

Ok so I figured out the engine idle with easy. I popped open the hood and immediately saw my pcv line had torn. Put a new line on it and runs like a champ.

My dash however is still dead. The fuse is blown however when I put a new fuse in it just blows. I haven't touched anything on the car in weeks and when it happened I was just cruising down the free way. Any ideas?

Look to see if a wire has grounded out anywhere. One could have finally rubbed through the insulation due to constant vibration against a metal component. Heat melted the insulation. Etc... Every time I've had fuses constantly blow, one after another, it has always been a wire grounded out somewhere.

^^^^^for sure. My Cobalt was having all kinds of idle, lights, dash, shifting issues. The insulation rubbed down thru and onto one of the under hood wires. Put on electrical tape, plastic insulaion and all was good.

Car is still sitting in my driveway I'm super intimidated by this issue. What is on that relay. The 15 for the radio and gauges. Is there anything else? Can I hook up an ohm meter to see if the short is fixed so I don't blow fuses?

Turn the car on at night and open the engine bay try to see if there any spark as you rev it from the outside
mine had a ground cable tapping the headers making everything glitch and act crazy

So I opened it up tonight. Tried a fuse in #7 and it blew instantly. I knew what would be easy is take the cluster out and radio out in 10 minutes and I'd eave the rest on the circuit. Fuse went in no issues. Reinstalled the radio fuse was still good. Reinstalled the Cluster fuse was still good. So everything seems to work for one reason or another.

If a wire had rubbed the insulation off and was grounding out, when you pulled things out you repositioned that wire. Now it is not touching metal. If that was the issue it may come back as you drive if the wire either drops back into place, or the insulation gets rubbed off again. You may luck out and when you moved things around you moved the wire enough to get it away from the problem area. Me, I'm paranoid when it comes to wiring. I'd pull it back apart and inspect every wire I could for damage...
