I should be getting my forged 383 stroker with 4 bolt splayed caps out of the machine shop this week! Just need to get some KB piston's for it and then start looking at head's!

I wanted to run 11.5.1 compression and the piston's it came with where -15cc and 9 something compression with a stock head. Already got my new piston's they are Icon -2cc flat top forged .030 over everything is out of the shop just needs to be put together!

Good old lt1 tight chamber heads and added cubic inches = compression, even with the reverse cooling thats way to much for pump gas.**** even with 64cc heads with a 383 flat top setup your 11.5 to 1.DETONATION lol.

Uhhhhh... you have no idea what you're doing do you. I don't know what you've been told but a 4.030 bore x 3.750 stroke and -15cc pistons comes out to 10.87 with stock chambered heads and stock size gasket. So with your -2 cc pistons it will be 12.80:1. Now your only option is to buy a set of AFR's because no one else offers a chamber big enough to get the compression down to where you want it, even though .75 cr will have almost no effect on your setup.
They are Icon forged ic718's 4.9cc...I miss quoted them im looking for around 11.1-11.5 compression.
So you think 11.5 to 1 is too much for a forged 383 LT1?

12.8 to 1 is way to much for pump.it will ping its holy *** off till it breaks a piston.11.5 to 1 all depends on the camshaft imo.Ya you can get away with it and lower the spark table down 4 to 6 degrees and be in the 27 degree range but you wont be maximizing your combo on pump gas.Now if your going to swap tunes all the time to go from 91 friendly **** water to race gas to take full advantage of the compression then by all means go for it.But its your build and i wish you luck.

The correct piston for your setup would be a kb734 that will get ya damm near 11 to 1 and be a good balnce, still be able to run it hard on pump gas.
Now if you want a dedicated race gas car then go for it by all means, but if you plan on running 91 plan on pulling the motor out very shortly after it goes in to replace the broken pistons.

Just looked up your pistons.718 is a flat top br0,Your stock lt1 head is 51.9 cc.Kb list that piston with a 58cc head to be 12.0 to 1.What do you think it will be with a 51.9cc head.I know 5cc is a half a point of compression and 58 to 52 cc is 6cc so your going to be 12.8 to 1.Go ahead and let us know how that works on pump gas.I dont care if its a lt1 with reverse cooling and a solid roller cam with a ton of overlap to bleed your static compression, its not going to run on pump gas,and your builder and tuner should know this.ASK anyone in the lt1 world whats going to happen on cali 91 **** water.out of state 93 MAYBE but not cali **** water.

Im going to be using a 64cc head nate so no need to worry about compression.
