Barona "Truck" Drag Meet Update!
I just got off the phone with the Barona Drag Strip Director, Tony.
If we get 10 or more trucks to show up, and if we are interested, Tony can set up a "Gambler Event" for us! What's a "Gambler Event" ? Well, we all get together in the morning and decide how much each person wants to contribute to the "Pot" (i.e. $10, $20, whatever we agree too). Then we make our runs on a ladder system based on our Bracket (time we select). So the way that goes is: A person decides what his 1/8th mile time is, then, his goal is to get as close to that time, without going over. Now, if I were to pick an 1/8th mile time of 7.5 sec, then a perfect run would be a 7.5. Got it. Purse is a 60/40 split. 60% going to the winner, 40% going to the runner up.
Also, Tony said that if this is your first time at a Drag Strip, he will line you up singles or (by yourself) until you get comfortable with the process. If you want , of course.
He also noted that, at a very min, we should get 10 runs in per person, and that the least populated times were right at 10a.m. and around 4p.m.[/I] [/B]
very cool!
Looks like Barona Drag Strip will be happy to have us

Could be fun....Guess I need to tune up my launch and R/T's. Beauty of this, it is not the ET that wins.....It is consistency.
Guess you better start taking your one-a-day silver Grippy

Sounds like a good time guys, unfortunately I cant make it on the 19th... Oh well I am better off probably at the Famoso deal on the 26th anyway since I will still be shakin the bugs out..
I went to the test & tune @ Famoso today and spoke with the track manager about a possible "private track event".
He just needs a gaurantee of $5,000 minimum for 50 or less vehicles. After that its the $100 per vehicle up to 100. Anyhow something to think about for a future event..
Take some video! And LOTS of pictures!!
