Default new to Diego

-I just moved back to San Diego after living elsewhere for eleven years. My car is in dire needs of a good tune. I have added headers, TC, gears, etc and have yet to tune it. I just drove it 3000 miles to get hear. Anyways does anyone know of a tuner shop in San Diego?

Not in SD. Your best bet is to find someone local that has HP Tuner for your year, and experience using it. I just had someone I know local do mine. The only years he has licenses for is 99 and 01 though.

-That sucks, I can't believe such a big city has no performance shops. What about orange county? Don't want to drive but if I have to then I have no choice.

Yep, SanDog blows for Chevy Hi-Po. A market waiting to be tapped.

I believe EdLS1Vert is getting together with some of the other local guys and buying HP Tuners for 2000 model year. Best bet is to link up with him, he hangs out in the western section of LS1.com more than here, even though that place went lame about 4 years ago. San Diego might not have very many 'professional' LS1 shops, but it just means we have to do most of the stuff ourselves.

Ben is right, I don't hang out here in the regional section too much. But I may be able to help you on the tune. I do my own tuning with LS1 Edit. But just traded it in for HP Tuner. It should be here in a week or so. I bought 99, 00, and 02.

More info on the Dyno Shop.

A) They don't know anything about LS1's.

B) Their dyno is the most unpredictable in Southern California, just ask around.

C) They charge a LOT $$$$ for something that is VERY EASY to do yourself.

D) JBA only charges $80 to rent their dyno if you do it yourself

E) If you tune your own car, or have an aquaintance who does it, anytime you add a mod you won't have to go back and get charged a LOT MORE $$$$
