EGR/AIR in Cali
EGR/AIR in Cali Iam going to be getting an ls6 intake, I can go with the slp one with egr, but I really want to get rid of all of the egr/air crap. my question is, has anyone that deleted egr and air on there car been able to pass emissions? If I get the codes deleted etc.. you think they might overlook it? any help is appreciated.
You won't pass the visual ... unless you do it (smog check) ilegally. You may get away without the EGR, if a referee inspected your car and thought it was a newer engine you put in ... otherwise no.

The biggest problem is that little emissions sticker under the hood next to the strut. A smog tech will generally look at that first as it lists all emmissions components installed on the vehicle, as well as having a diagram that shows them where it is.
The SLP LS6 intake may cost $100 more, but you won't have to worry about getting dinged for it on smog. EGR and AIR aren't too much of a hastle, other than they clutter the engine bay.

Just get the SLP LS6 Intake w/ EGR provisions and leave the AIR system intact.. In our state removing that stuff will be more trouble than it's worth, IMO.

You will fail the visual and the diagnostic. They will see that you dont have any EGR and AIR systems and when the tap your computer they will see that the car should have AIR and EGR, and will also see that both have been deactivated(if you dont want an SES light).

Not sure on whether it would fail the OBD-2 test, you can delete some things (like secondary air) and still pass. I think it would just show up as 'not ready' and you can have like 2 or 3 not readies and still pass.
If you want to make the engine bay look nicer and more accessable, just go with !AC/!heater.
