Default Looking for a shop to install my SFC.

I live in huntington park part of LA County. I am looking for a local to semi local shop to install my subframe connectors(SFC's). Anybody out there got any recommendations? I called up Don Lee but they want $130 so "F" that. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I called them up also and they quoted me $120 for the install...WTF.

The two premiere s.cali shops are super expensive, ouch.

I guess I'll just have to come up with the money if I want to get the SFC's installed.

A muffler shop would probley do it for $100.. but you get what you pay for

How much were you expecting to pay? $20??? It does take some time you know..

I agree with Steven, plus you need to be on a drive-on lift or weld the SFC with the suspension loaded. It is kind of hard welding under the rocker panels with a lift in your way.

Most people I have talked to on fbody forums have said I'm getting ripped if I pay that much, that's why I am asking here also.

I guesstimated around $60-$80 at the most but I'm definitely off I guess.

Well like I said I'll just have to come up with the $$$.

That is the problem about asking on the forums, regarding prices. Different regions of the US charge different prices. I would ask locally only regarding prices, but also I would specify where exactly I am located. Even in the same state prices can vary.

I also got a 10 discount because they finished fast, though they took their time. It really doesn't take a shop long to install sfc, of course depending what type of sfc you got.

30-40 minutes or at the very most an hour. The instructions that come with bmr sfc say 2-1/2hrs, that why I got 10 dollars off the price, which I was originaly quated at 130 dollars.

Anywhere from 100-150 is the going rate for subframes. Gota remember, you are paying for time. And welding and prep work is time. I takes me about 1-1 1/2 hours for every subframe job. But I also prep the work, then clean it, weld it, then paint it when done. But you do get what you pay for.

Only thing they did not do to my sfc, was paint the sfc for me. But then again I painted the sfc and now I got to do this again. So painting the sfc in itself takes a lot of prep work for the sfc be ready for the paint or after a week or two the paint will start chipping if not done properly. And rick is right you do pay for time.

What's happening rick, how's it going at the ls1 museum, j/k.
