I'm in Exeter, just North of Porterville, and East of Visalia. I go to to the track all the time with my dad and his 68 GTO (Mean GTO), have taken the TA down there a couple times, but know 1.71 60's are gonna murder the stock RE with my 6 speed. We'll all have to meet up sometime down there, I NEVER see F-bodies down there!

I found out that cl bryant on rosedale right by Cosco sells VP race fuels as well. They supply Letoy Motorsports, etc so I'd assume that it would be cheaper there.

Wow...a Bakersfield thread that actually has replies. Suprised to see this. I've got a mustang project that should be fun when its done.

Do all the fast cars still go out to the street races around here???? The street races in bakersfield used to be pretty cool, i haven't been out in a little while cause everytime I go there isnt crap out there.

There used to be alot of cool cars out every weekend racing anything they could get to race them.

There was a white C5 corvette that was like a 10 second car that outran almost every street or race car. I haven't seen his car at sonic any of the times i've driven through. Has anyone seen him come out in a while?

There were some z06's that had a bunch done (silver and a black one) I think ran in the 11's. And a big ripped guy in a black ws6 on prostars that I saw go like 10.9 at famoso a little while back. I heard he scattered the motor and its been parked ever since....hmmm what other ls1's were there. Couple other C5's with nothing notable done at sonic a few times. Has anyone seen that LS1 conversion c4 corvette that comes to sonic sometimes, any one have any details about that car? That car was pretty sick on the street. My friends got a picture from the street races where it looks like it had air under the tire beating another 10 second car by a ton.

Well guess I will have to say hi, if I see any of you guys around

Where you drinking alcohol before you put the higher octane in? I doubt the higher octane even increased any timming for you to feel any difference.

When I had my old 87 IROC back in the day, I used to dump 5 gallons or so of 103 or 104 "race" gas in her (when the tank was empty) that a local station had. It "seemed" to run harder/stronger, but it isn't like I ever took her tot he track or anything like that.......

On an HEI ignition system? With electronics as sophisticated as a gameboy?Unless you bumped the timming up manually, I seriously doubt you felt anything. Its more believable on an LS based engine than the TPI hei ignition based engines.
