yes I have done the search method but havent found what I been lookin for...
dad wants to get LT'S but is worried about smog and wants 2 do shortys and from things I have heard shortys are waste of money and would take a couple of hours 2 switch back 2 stock y-pipe/manifolds if we got lt's
any input would be great thanks

just get LT's, you'll be happy with the sound and performance. And it shouldn't take too long to swap out every two years, especially if you go with Kooks/Qtp's since they're a piece of cake to install
yes, shorties are a waste of money, don't even bother. Their is a few places that don't even care about the visual, as long as it's clean out of the tailpipe, then theres not a problem

Pacesetter here. The emissions is coming up for my car in a couple months. I think that I am going to just swap the stock stuff back on when I need to get tested. Anyway go with LT's, shorties to me is a waste of money.

I have shorties and only got 356whp with a TR224
Im down like 20+whp
Im gonna get LT's w/ cats after I smog in July and just swap every two years if I cant find someone to pass me next time smog comes up.

Well I also have a 224/224 cam at 114 lsa. I went with the pacesetters LT headers and TSP y-pipe with hi-flow cats. I had Jeff Creech tune it for me. I went to a shop and had it smog checked just to see how it would do. It passed with flying colors. It ran very clean. Go to a few smog shops and tell them if they would smog it as long as they dont mind overlooking the headers.

just like the above post say ,you are going to have to find a smog guy to overlook the headers.try going into a shop on a busy friday afternoon,i heard many things get overlooked when the techs is trying to finish up his work quickly to go home.
