Default Anyone in Socal want to help out a newbie?

Hey I am 16 and I plan on getting a car ready for autox. I currently have a zx2 that I plan to use just to drive around (get me from point A to point B). I had a couple ideas in mind of cars that I would like to convert to use an ls1 engine. I really need a small, light car. It needs to handle very well. The two cars I have thought of so far have been an rx-7 FD (Fd's with blown engines go fairly cheap), or a miata. Any other suggestions are greatly appriciated. I know this will be a very long and very difficult process (I'm not forgetting expencive either!). I would love it if there was someone (or a couple people) that I could talk to whenever I needed help on the project. I really want to make a car that Chevy would be proud of .

How hard would it be to put an LS1 in it? How much $$ would the conversion end up costing?

they both make great converion cars. do a search in the conversion section and pm a few who have successfully done either one aobut cost etc. i prefer a LS1 RX7 just cause of the styling, but the miata is so light
