if you get picked for a test only place thats state run your **** out of luck unless you go completely back to stock.
depends. i smoged my car at a smog only.

the egr wasent even on the car, the smog lines weren't hooked up, rear 02 simms. etc.

so JRP, no more big motor? so.... STS on a forged 350? or your 383?
either way, good luck!

sweet, i should be 100% smog legal sans air and egr. that should be pretty easy to get around though.

no more "race" motor. STS is gonna go on my same forged bottom end (347), just different heads as with the dome (piston) and mill of the heads CR is 12.0. not boost friendly . will drop it down to 10.5 with 6.0 heads until i get some large chambered 205's.

yeah, the p1 has an EO number, but it isnt for the application on which its used. Check the ARB website and see. In fact, ATI doesnt officially sell a CARB legal system according to their technical support staff. Don't get me wrong, its a good route to go. But I wouldnt be surprised if ARB figured it out. That would truely suck if its on my car allready.

Its good to know that STS got approval. Not a fan of lower temp turbo's and what looks like a large volume of inlet air, but the EO number goes a long way in my book.

There are "test only" privately owned shops. The only requirement is that they dont perform any other services. Less likely to cheat that way. I go to a "test only" shop and have had ~9 tests in the last 2 years. Guy is an idiot and doesnt really check ****. Luck of the draw. Of course he almost drove my roadmaster off the roller once. duh.

Dude, look at the Vortechs - most kits are CARB legal.

I may convert my car to a lower compression 383 with a T-Trim, SLP shorty headers, smaller cam and the like to bring the car back into emission compliance.

if you use HP tuners.... you can turn off the EGR red flag "triggers" (like 7) and remove the EGR from the car. and when the smog guy hooks up the obd2 and tests your system it shows that it is working . just wanted to share that!

Depending on the components you disable, it will either show up as working fine, 'not ready', or not applicable to vehicle. You can have up to two 'not ready's and still pass. You can disable the secondary air, egr, etc, whatever you want to disable basically, as long as you don't flag more than two 'not readys'.

With my sig, do you think it would pass if it's tuned well? The kooks long tubes have the high flow cats. Or would I need to put on the regular gm cats?

Couldn't find an EO number for Squire Turbo System (STS). Are you sure they have it yet?

Maybe, it has to be a hell of a tune and you need to find someone to overlook the LT's, but I think that it is possible.

i think yes.... the only thing you may need to do is, de-tune your car a little.
but id try it as is first.
