Man,
It looks like you guys are VERY interested in doing this event, I think there will be enough cars show up to have it! I will be contacting the race track today to find out what the cost of the track rental is for a weekend event. I will have entry fees and dates thereafter, I will be using the same rules for the Thunder shootout so if you need to get your car ready they can be found at www.thundershootout.com and I will have a page dedicated to ours ASAP but until then you can use Thunder's rules. I am glad to see all the response, this should be a blast!! Keep em' comin'!!

If anyone wants to run over Labor Day weekend, we'll be racing in our own lanes with the PSCA guys. $20 to run, great track prep, good excuse to go to Vegas.

Ugh, I remember the last time I was in Vegas for Labor Day,.........a rather busy weekend there......like what Holiday weekend isn't. Enjoy though.

Well guys,
I have a call into the track rental dept. at CA speedway, I hopefully will have some pricing for entry fees etc. in the next day or so, I imagine it will take me a bit to put this whole event together. I am going to be needing some volunteers most likely to help with tech inspection and such so I will post regarding these issues at a later date, just wanted to let you know how its going.

I was looking at the rules for the Pro-Outlaw Class, what's the chances of upping the CID to 548CI

Thanks,

Well, I think in the grand scheme of things it might be possible, it depends on how the car count looks.

Also I have some info, the track rental is like 8000.00 a day and I can't get ANY day until next year so I may be looking for a diffrent venue. I will need sponsors for the event for sure so let's see who's on board!

You may want to try contacting Famoso, Barona, Banning, or even LACR. If you need help collecting supports, I can help if you'd like. I have some sources. Plus we should try and get the popular western tuner shops on board as well.

That may be a good idea, it might be kind of cool to get everyone together to do this thing, I was hoping for it to not cost too much but it is looking like it will be very expencive to say the least! I will call around somemore and see what I can get together, you never know Vegas might be cheaper but I doubt it, one hell of a nice track though. Great area for a cruise for the event too!

dont waste your time contacting banning, because the track doesn't exist.

it is the same pile of dirt it was before they came up with the idea to build a track

Don't remind me, they have like $6000.00 of our dollars, we were the very first sponsor to sign up for a fairly large amount like that. It really sucks and i have no idea why they don't do it, it could make millions in the first year alone!!! The place would be swamped every night out this way, it would be mostly imports but hey they pay to get in just like anyone else! I actually have some people looking to buy into it is they can to get the ownership away from the IDIOTS running the thing now....We will see....

I would check again, because I was watching Inside Drag Racing this past weekend and they had something about Banning being open. They even showed a couple of cars go down the track.

Jody J.

BTW, thanks for all your hard work and time on trying to put this together

Vegas is about $5000 for a rental.
Very good facility and if it's in Late Sept. or beyond, the weather is great.
October is a busy month for the track, but I'd be willing to bet you could run your event in conjunction with the Buick/Supra weekend.
The car counts for the buick deal have been a little light lately.

Email 1320jon@***.net to see if he might be able to help you swing something.
He helps out with the promotion on the Buick deal.
Plus you'll be closer to me so I can enter your motor class.

Unfortunately I drive by it on a fairly regular basis, nothing but tumbleweeds.....

I will be giving LMS a call today to see what they have to say and if I can't get a date there maybe I will call your guy with the Buick deal Dave, thanks.

I vote for Qualcom or Fontucky Raceway..vegas is a pain to get to. too much traffic. then all of the gas to and from plus racing.
