New in Monterey

New in Monterey Hey, I just moved to California (Monterey to be precise) and I need to figure out the lay of the land here. Where can I find a good shop that's not afraid to dive into a modified LS1?
Also, if anyone wants to have their car tuned, let me know, I got HPTuners and I'm not afraid to use it
Also, if anyone cares to explain the process of what I need to have to register out of state car here that would be great too.

I am from monterey orignally, but live in la now. Mostly just a lot of truck shops in salinas. I haven't heard of any place that really knows about ls1's there. What kind of work are you looking to get done? As for registration you need to go into dmv (I like the one in seaside). They will do a visual inspection and check out the vin. That and a smog check I believe are all that you need to get done.

welcome to CA I am def. going to need some tuning help here man.. PM me sometime, im up in Morgan Hill as well..reg. of out of state car. 1)fill out form 2)get smogged 3)goto DMV office, they will double check your VIN and that is about it (they wont go into whats legal or not, they just want to make sure its the car you claim it to be) I will get back to you on some shops.. but what were you looking to have done?

Welcome to Cali. I know that it is somewhat of a drive. But you can go to WWW.SYNERGYMOTORSPORTS.NET . They are located in Fremont, which is about an hour from you. They do great work on LS1's. We are all actually going to the track tomorrow if you want to go. The track is located in Sacramento and is a Norcal-LS1 shootout event. All muscle cars. It is from 6-11pm, with gates opening at 5pm. I will trailoring my car to the track. Also, another website to check out is www.norcal-ls1.com . Most of the people on there are from or around the bay area. My name is the same there as it is here.

thanks for the invite, right now the car's down, Kev's gonna get it going soon (right Kev?) then we can go play. anyone needs a tune? I got all years of LS1 Fbody, so send me a pm if you want one.

Next year it should have a STS system.
btw I have two friends that nice rides that also live in Soledad. One has a Black Joe Gibbs truck its sick. The other one has a pimp *** Silver CTS-V. They both goto MPC in Monterey so keep an eye out for them.
