so the o2's in the rear... they are just plugged in?? are those o2 simulators? or do you think they are real o2's and the guy just had them deleted, but left them in there?

also, you say you need extensions... why would you need extensions from mid length headers, to lt headers? is the o2 bungs in a diff. location between the 2 headers??? and do you think i could use my stock front o2's for the mids? thanks for all your help lol, sorry about all the questions... im using the search button as much as possible lol

there are actual 02 sensors in the Y pipe, just the wires were snipped and the function was deleted...

When going from stock/shorties/mids to longtubes you need the extensions since the location is much further down the pipe than any of the other 3...The front 02's on the midlengths are right before the collector, which is about where they would probably be on a stock setup...

where's the other car in here running Mac headers? Have to ask him if he is using the stock 02 harness, unless he got his car like that too...I find a secret out about my car all the time, still want to know why i trap 116 with only a few mods...

My car was advertised as a 600hp car in a dealer showroom, traded in on slicks and with a nitrous bottle in the back...But still 241 heads, stock rear, stock suspension...i can't figure it out...

anyway...

I don't mind questions, it's always good to be sure...

ok, finally found some info... as you said i can use my stock front o2's... i WILL need to either delete my AIR system, or purchase the tubes from a 00-02 car, if i wanted to keep AIR...which is pointless with no cats... so im going to delete EGR and AIR and just get AIR blockoff plates... as for the rear o2's left in the y pipe... are you keeping those or leaving them in?

also, you mentioned having to tighten some bolts here and there.. were these the bolts that go into the head? or the bolts that connect the headers with the y pipe?

hey what kind of y pipe is it anyways??

Yes the bolts i had to tighten were in the Y pipe...It's the Mac ORY, kinda annoying me right now since i haven't been able to get under there to tighten them up since being back easy (roads suck, that's the only reason i had to keep on them)...So whenever i go near a wall or house i can hear a little leak...But when tightened down they don't leak at all...

ya, somebody just informed me of a "connector mod" known in the mac header world, that eliminates that problem i would guess... probably by welding the y to the headers, instead of bolts... and i just got on speed inc. and basically got band clamps, stage 8 header bolts, air/egr blockoff plates, and an egr manifold plug for like 40$...

are any of those items available through GM cuz i get nice discounts through GM

i'd stick with aftermarket on that stuff...GM manifold gaskets though...

i have call QTP tomorrow and ask if everything was shipped yet, and then add on some bolts, clamps, and extensions....

ya, everything is aftermarket i believe, its all from speed inc. and i think some of it is from there own manufacturing. now im researching the tuning part... a while ago the guy "NicD" that lives around here quoted me 75$ to get the codes deleted... thats all i would need right ? or would i need to get it dyno tuned to adjust the A/F ratio?

depends on your goals for the car...If you are done modding for a while, like no big plans for the immediate future, you can go ahead and get a tune...

Me, i won't because i need to make my heads/cam get installed and then put a tune on it...I just need someone with a place to do it to help me out, or i gotta pay for it to happen...

you should contact NicD... i hear hes one of the best ls1 tuners in this area... he told me 75$ to delete codes and adjust the thermostat and other little things... not sure about a full tune though... would i need to rent a dyno in order to get a full tune just for headers/ory??

you better go to bed, thats torture only being able to sleep for 6 hours, ive got no school tomorrow so im good lol

you dont need a tune for just headers it will be fine, just the annoying ses light foe the ory, but that is taken care of for me without deleting any codes since i have the vinci/crane programmer, it sets the parameters so low it will not trip a code without cats, no 02 sims for me, everything is conected as stock. also i used stock bolts and gaskets, never had any leaks or problems, did not need 02 extensions either, and band clamps will do you no good on the mac y, that where i had the problem of leaking was where the ory went into the i, you can either weld it or put some hi temp gasket sealer around there like i did since i did not want to weld it, no problems after that

no it wont, your car is OBD1, and i believe most programmers are for OBD2...

did you finally get your headers and everything situated? how does it sound?

CChris1109-

You just bought all those parts but yet in your sig it says

"Dam I wish I had an LS1"

Why dont you just sell your car and use that and mod money to buy one?

1st off if the engine mounts are used I would not re-use them, polyurathane or not. 2nd, my guess is that these mods will result in not much more than a 20rwhp gain if that, owning to the fact that they are mid-length vs LT's. If you add a cutout to all of this you'll be closer to the 40rwhp that you're looking for. Have you ever run your car on the track or had a dyno test performed? I'd suggest at least running the car at the track to get a baseline performance gauge as to wht the car is capable of as it sits, then add parts, take it back and evaluate the results. As this is a

and for the only 20 whp post

mid length and long tubes provide equal amounts of power when starting up stock, its only then when one adds a cam/heads to the car the long tubes will provide more power since obviously more exhaust is flowing out, but for a semi stock car...mid/long tubes will provide almost equalgains, check the boards this was discussed

and i got all of this for 400, so 400+250 paint job

i spent 4650 on my car so far as compared to an LS1 would be 7+ and the mileage on my car, is only 33k
