The first I installed them I ran into a lot of problems, nothing big at all, just a few bumps in the road basically. This was the first time I have ever laid a wrench on a car before as well. If you just go slow and take your time it will work out.
If not then by all means look into the cheatr cam

To be honest, that's not gonna work very well. That cam is designed with longtubes in mind. It's not gonna work very well with shorties. You won't make very good power, and it will be harder to tune. You need an exhaust biased cam if you want to use shorties. Personally, I'd either sell the cam, or buy some longtubes.
Well, according to 8gtoklr he's got a 224/224, which is not a great setup for shorties. That's why I made that comment. It sounds like he didn't get the specs right, so I'd agree with you.
I bet that would work pretty well for your combo. I have the 216/220 with JBA shorties on my car and love it. I'm curious how the 216/224 would feel or work with my setup. My car has been asking for the cheater cam lately though.
