Moving to Nevada... Smog? Hey I'm moving to Nevada soon *mods in sig* I know that once I'm registered there, I can pretty much do whatever I want... but how thuroughly do they look over the car when you're coming into the state? Mods in sig...

make sure your service engine light is off,you will have to go to the dmv to have a vin check done on your car takes 10 min.the tech will check your vin(door,hood,dash)give a quick look around the car and give you a paper to take inside to get your nv,registration.

They use the OBDII test where they plug into the Computer to see if all the smog stuff is working. I keep mine registered in NV because the test is easy....they have never opened the hood as yet and the Prime Rib dinners are great at a local casino and it is only a 3hr drive from me.

Well you picked one of the two counties in the state they do smog checks in. Right now they are very lax on the visual part of the test, the place I go to only plugs in the scanner and doesn't check anything visually.

Nope, they just check the vin on the dash.
