yeah jammers are pretty cool but if a cop is holding a radar gun in his hands and points it at you you are screwed. if they can tell which car sent the jam they will nail you. you might also need a lazer detector jammer. what the jammer does is gets painted by the signal and then sends a little extra message back to the unit which momentarily scrambles the receiver. it doesn't ruin the unit but they can tell when you have one.

ever look on the back of anything electronic and see that little FCC sticker? it says 2 things.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation...
now, the entire concept of a jammer, is that it causes harmful interference.. and by federal law, its illegal. whats intresting is this applies ONLY to radio transmission.. not light. so "laser jammers" are legal. not highly effective, but they are legal. radar jammers are not.
as far as DETECTORS go, there is no specific federal law for regular cars.. however some states have made their use illegal... that is, you can legally own it, but, you cannot legally use it in that state. there is a federal law for truckers... they cannot even have one in their possession.. big fines on that one.. lol.
as far as what detector is best.. its the V1. as for how much better it is compared to ________... thats an opinion... but it is the best one out there, bar none.

im not the one making the separation of the two.. you can blame the government for that one... my point is the FCC regulates radio communications... but they cannot stop you from "broadcasting" as much light from your car...esp if that light is outside the visible range.. lol.
as far as i know, the only FEDERAL law involving light from a motor vehicle outside the visible spectrum is for MIRT - Mobile Infrared Transmitter for Emergency Vehicles. basically if you pulse a bright IR light at the correct frequency(somewhere around 15Hz i think), the redlights turn green to let you thru.... its now a violation of federal law to have something like that on your car(Safe Intersections Act of 2005).... plus since CCDs can see IR, its somewhat visible on camera... esp the night cams.
remember, most of this is just legal BS.... thats all im talking about.. in reality, i doubt anyone would ever find out if you built a transmitter, tuned to the radar guns frequency...
