If you are coasting at like 15 mph and put it in neutral, do the RPM bounce up and down? If so, the idle airflow tables need to be adjusted and brought into the correct range. If it is stalling I doubt it will learn enough to give you manageable idle characteristics.

Good lord I leave for like 10 hours and you guys have already added another 7 pages worth of posts. Nice. Anyhow Onebadstang, if you end up needing new heads, let me know, my neigbor has a Crown Vic that was rear ended and totaled but the motor runs fine, I'm sure he'd be willing to let them go for cheap. I'm pretty sure it's newer than a 99 so they should be the PI ones, unless Vic's never got those.

mine is pretty brown too...That dust was rediculous...
