As long as he goes DOHC he can always stick an SC on there. CHP offers some pretty nice, 4.6's for reasonable prices if I remember correctly, or maybe that was AMP... anyhow. Sucks that your car's toast Ryan.

Ok couple of questions.
1. Where is the best place to jack these cars up at?
2. Where is the best place to put the jackstands?
3. Where the hell is the oil filter?
Doing an oil change, and it's hot as **** outside. Thanks.

Ok, answered my first 2 question by reading the owner's maual. Haven't gotten uner the car to look for the filter yet though. Also found out that our oil catch pan thing somehow got a huge hole in the bottom of it. Yay! Now I have to wait for someone to get home so I can go buy a new one.
There should be a law in AZ that states all homes must come with an air conditioned garage free of charge, it's f'ing rediculous having to do this kind of crap in this heat.

if you can't find the oil filter, you shouldn't be around the car...
It's on the left hand side, about 4 inches away from the drain plug...Drain plug is a 15mm, just like every other GM, with the exception of the duramax diesel and some Saab products...

I almost had a heart attack after seeing that...I have to call them tomorrow, this is horseshit

Ok as far as Ryans Mustang goes...
If you go with a 4v Cobra swap, by all means try and push for the 03/04...But I think money might be an issue on that one...
99/01/ and the Mach 1 I wouldn't waste my time on...
96-98 is where it's at...Sure, they weren't rated as high, so see past that...
The reason is in what lies beneath...The Teksid aluminum block, produced by a supplier to Ferrari, is the strongest production block in the mustang world...Yes, even stronger than the 03/04 Cobra...It can handle well into the 1000Hp levels...The crankshaft is also forged and supplied by a German company and can hold to the same level...The rods and pistons are the weaker link, but can still take a licking, they do you good until around 15psi or so...
The B series head is also great for porting...It has 2 intake ports per cylinder, primary and secondary...With the use of IMRC, this provided low end torque and high end power...**** the IMRC and rev it a little higher, add some gear to make up for the loss on the low end...
So then you beef up the internals, port the heads, add a 99/01 Cobra intake, and a F1-R and like 38psi...Then you need a powerglide and a 9" and some suspension...But that's a little rediculous...
Or you could always **** the modular and go for a 5.8 351 and throw some boost at it...Can do that pretty cheap...
