ok on my 100th post heres the latest news. Alex took a trip to AMP this morning to take a look at a engine for my piece of **** car. It's a 4.6 16v same thing i have now coming with intake, throttle body, fuel rails, coils everything i need PLUS more
it has 50k miles on the engine right now, the car before was t-boned so no damage to the engine whatsoever. AMP was asking $2500 for it but it was then talked down to $2000 which is definately reasonable for us. The car before was an automatic but they told us it would be no problem for them to change the bolt pattern from an 8 bolt to a 6 bolt for the flywheel to fit my manual no cost. Were planning a trip in the morning to AMP to take another look, with a good chance at buying it. Hows that sound to you guys? 
ps. i plan to keep the motor i have now and part it out plus it would be nice to have an extra incase some bullshit starts up again

if it were me... id be completely POSITIVE this current motor is done for... the last thing you need is to blow 2k on a new motor, and the old one was still workable.
not sure what those 4.6's go for, but ive seen a complete LS1/PCM/tranny go for 3-3.5k
